MEET THE TEAM
JORDAN - GAME DESIGNER

Meet the talents behind The Tiny Digital Factory, in a series of interviews.

Today, meet Jordan, Technical Game Designer at The Tiny Digital Factory. He helps create the concept, and set the rules for the games the studio develops.

DO YOU PLAY VIDEO GAMES?

Yes, I probably play too much! I don’t actually play a lot of racing games, my favorite styles are mostly FPS, TCG/CCG (trading card games), and Roguelike (role-play sub-genre)

HOW IS LIFE IN LYON?

It’s good ! I’m lucky enough to live not too far from work, even if it means I’m always in the same neighborhood. I really like Lyon, I think it’s a different world from Paris and it’s just the right size: not too small, not too big!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO GAME CHARACTER?

I would say Omen of Valorant! He’s a character I love, as soon as I discovered him I knew I was going to play him because he represents my style of play quite well. He’s a dark character, you can’t see his face, only his eyes shining and a very low voice. But still he is quite offbeat, comes out with some funny punchlines. And in his gameplay, he is a cunning character who will try to destabilize the opponent and get behind his back. I love that.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE WORKING FOR TDF?

After high school, I got a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design at Bellecour Ecole, then I worked for a few months at Smart Tales. I then applied to The Tiny Digital Factory, and since Smart Tales was working with TDF, the contact was made naturally between the two companies.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY SINCE YOU WORKED AT TDF?

I have been working here for 4 years! My best memory was moving to our current location. When I arrived, we were 10 employees, and we were working in small offices. That move, and the hiring, really gave the studio a new impetus and I felt that we had really evolved.

ONE LAST WORD ?

In Game Design, there are more and more schools and students, but very few chosen after graduation. In order to find a job, I think you have to diversify as much as possible beyond your skills as a designer only. It’s always a big advantage to be versatile, to be interested in other things like level design, modeling or programming.
